Thunder Brothers

Demon brothers noted for their violence. The shards of the jewel buried in their foreheads make them more powerful. The elder, Hiten (left), flies through the sky with flaming wheels at his feet. The younger Manten (right) boasts of enormous physical strength, but is simple minded.

Kagome's Family

Kagome's family belongs to the old established Higurashi Shrine. It's an ordinary family who are kind enough to make excuses for Kagome's absence (in her time travels to the past), saying that she's in the hospital with one illness or another.

Inuyasha's Family

Inuyasha's father is a canine monster holding a castle in Saigoku ("Western Nation"). Badly injured in the battle with Ryukotsusei, he died leaving his two sons his swords: Tenseiga to Sesshomaru and Tetsusaiga to Inuyasha. He was said to be very powerful and, according to old Myoga, his blood tasted good. His tomb is hidden in Inuyasha's left eye. From Inuyasha's mothers clothes she appears to have been a woman of status. The story does not reveal how she got involved with Inuyasha's father.

Kagome's Classmates

Kagome's friends in junior high are ninth-graders who are preoccupied with high-school entrance exams. They say that Kagomes grades aren't so bad considering her many absences.

Urasue

She gives the soul of the deceased Kikyo a false body to use. The new body is fired like ceramic in a kiln called Onigama. She specializes in firing "spiritual ceramics"

Frog Demon

This frog demon has possessed a feudal lord in Yamajiro. He breathes poison vapors from his mouth, and lives by eating the souls of young girls.

Yura of the Demon Hair

She manipulates village girls with invisible hairs to attack the Inuyasha party. She never dies, even when she is physically maimed. Her true self is a comb hidden in a red skull.

Mistress Centipede

This is the first demon Kagome meets as she is drawn into the well. The centipede detects the Jewel hidden in Kagome's body.
